LEOPOLD:

In his 25 year writing career, Leo St-Pierre has written over 900 hours of produced television and film productions, including ABC's All My Children, as well as projects for Discovery, Disney, BBC, CBC, ZDF and France 3. He is the Creator and Head Writer/Producer of Canada's first daily 'soap' La Maison Deschenes (and also wrote 300+ episodes of it).

In the past decade, Leo has concentrated exclusively on film projects. He has written THE GOSPEL OF JUDAS (for National Geographic, based on the recently discovered 3rd century gnostic codex document), DIAMOND DOGS, TUMBLING DICE (two action features filmed in Mongolia and Shanghai) and has just completed the screenplay for ONE LOVE, a theatrical feature produced by Thom Mount, producer of TEQUILA SUNRISE, BULL DURHAM and Roman Polanski’s FRANTIC. In addition to serving as script doctor on several HBO, Promark and Showtime films (No Alibi, X-Change, etc.), he has written 17 other original screenplays, including PLATINUM (directed by Bruce Macdonald; co-produced with Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Really Useful Group), THE MODERN MAN (also director; International Film Distributors), TOP DOG (Plaza Entertainment), THE MYSTERY OF THE RED-HEADED WOMAN (France 3) and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's THE LOST WORLD (Equinoxe/ITC).

He has been involved in projects with, among others, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir George Martin, Eric Roberts, Gabriel Byrne, John Hurt, Charlotte Rampling, Joanna Lumley, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Val Kilmer, Richard Chamberlain, Patrick Bergin, Dean Cain and Steven Baldwin.

His awards include Best Feature at The Chicago Student Film Festival (The Modern Man), and four writing team Emmy nominations. Closer to home, he has won numerous screenwriting assistance grants from Telefilm Canada and Astral Media's Harold Greenberg Screenwriting Fund.

He is also currently working with Paul Marcus (Emmy and BAFTA-award winning UK producer/director of PRIME SUSPECT) in readying A HEADFUL OF SNAKES for production. His screenplay, TWO PIRANHAS, is being produced in 2008, starring Charlotte Rampling and John Hurt. His Zelig-like part-documentary/part-fiction ‘noir’ fiction feature about Montreal in the 40’s, CITY OF SAINTS, has been optioned by Couzin Films and is currently being cast and story-boarded.

He teaches screenwriting seminars at the Quebec Writers’ Federation, and has guest lectured at University of Toronto and Vanier College. His first novel, a noir mystery THE GIRL WITH THE POWDER-BLUE EYES is to be published by Jade Dragon Press in Spring 2008.
